The Weaver Child Development Center is committed to providing a high-quality education to our students within an environment enriched by the Christ-centered values of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, & self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).
Weaver CDC is a non-denominational school dedicated to nurturing children’s growth and development across all domains (social-emotional, cognitive-language, physical, adaptive living) ensuring a holistic approach to their education and personal growth.
We believe that denominational doctrine should be taught in the home and church, rather than in school. One of our primary objectives is to teach the character qualities of Christ, emphasizing love (John 13:34-35) and wisdom (Proverbs 4:7).
Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach to education, much of our curriculum emerges from the interests of and questions posed by the children. Teachers are considered partners in learning; providing thought-provoking and open-ended questions in order to help children learn how to learn. Interests are further fostered through projects and activities that allow for exploration using a multitude of materials and media.
We are committed to providing the highest quality education by adhering to developmentally appropriate best practices while meeting all state standards. Our instruction is evidence-based, and our literacy program is aligned with the Science of Reading, ensuring that each child receives the most effective teaching methods.
We deeply respect children and their right to a high-quality education in a nurturing and supportive environment. Our highly qualified, state-licensed, and degreed teachers work closely with each student, maintaining an excellent teacher-to-child ratio.
In addition, university students have the opportunity to observe, work, and learn in our classrooms, contributing to a rich and dynamic learning environment. As part of their educator preparation programs, these students are required to obtain a 3-Year Pre-Service Teacher Permit from the Ohio Department of Education, which includes completing background checks and meeting other state-mandated requirements to ensure a safe and professional learning environment.
